\"TerryTerry Gilliam fans, myself included, have been wondering if the director will ever be able to restart his aborted film project The Man Who Killed Don Quixote<\/strong> ever since its tragic dissolution during its first week of shooting back in 1999. He has had a few tries come close to resurrecting the project, but bad luck has always interfered.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>, Gilliam has confirmed that he will be embarking on a new film project very soon. And while he states that it is not another attempt at Don Quixote<\/strong>, he seems to be taking steps to make sure that the bad luck that has pursued that project doesn\u2019t turn its sights towards this one by not talking about it at all. And he does so with an expected dash of self-deprecating wit.<\/p>\n

[Don Quixote<\/strong>] is off again now. Postponed until next year at least\u2026 But I\u2019m not going to talk about my next project. My wife has noted that as soon as I say something about my next project everyone writes about it and then it disappears. I don\u2019t what that to happen this time, so I\u2019m keeping my mouth shut\u2026. Let\u2019s just say that I\u2019ve been seen around Bucharest, Romania. That\u2019s it. It used to be that Italy was the best place to make quality films without spending a lot of money. Then, after communism, it was Prague. Then Budapest. Now it\u2019s Bucharest.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I don’t want to jinx anything, but could he be filming the adaption of the novel Mr. Vertigo<\/em> that he mentioned he was writing last year<\/a> around this time?<\/p>\n

Last week, Bleeding Cool<\/a>\u00a0first brought up the possibility that Gilliam was looking to be filming something in Bucharest in a story that also hinted that Johnny Depp might be a part of said project.<\/p>\n

Depp\u2019s possible involvement does not come as a surprise. He worked with Gilliam on Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas<\/strong>, was set to star in Don Quixote<\/strong> and stepped in to help with The Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus<\/strong> after the passing of Heath Ledger. Depp also had a hole open up in his schedule after Disney put the brakes on his planned remake of The Thin Man<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
