According to <em><a href=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20121107101703\/http:\/\/www.variety.com\/article\/VR1117978883?refCatId=13\">Variety<\/a><\/em>, Bale will be playing Purvis with Depp taking the Dillinger role.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, Dillinger has not been previously depicted in a film, evem though his ultimate fate was tied to the movies.
