\"pushingdaisies\"<\/a>The facts are these- In much the same way that its lead character can temporarily restore the dead back to life, it looks like the recently cancelled ABC television series Pushing Daisies<\/em> may get a temporary resurrection in the form of a feature film.<\/p>\n

Daisies<\/em> co-star Kristen Chenoweth told TV Guide<\/a> that series creator Bryan Fuller has a plot for a feature film continuation of the fantasy\/mystery series already hammered out. “It would wrap up a lot of the unanswered questions that people will have once they [ABC] finally air our final episodes,” she states.<\/p>\n

Premiering in October 2007, Daisies<\/em> was one of the few new hits of the televisino season,before the Writer’s Strike happened. After the strike was settled, some series ramped back up for a few episodes in the spring of 2008, but ABC decided to hold off and bring Daisies<\/em> back the following fall. Unfortunately, the show’s ratings in its sophomore season were only a fraction of what they were in the previous year, so ABC dropped the ax. The network currently hasthe show’s final three episodes waiting to be aired. Fuller has previously hinted that he would like to resolve any dangling plotlines left by the show’s premature cancellation in either a film or comic book mini-series.<\/p>\n

The show focuses on a piemaker, Ned (Lee Pace), who has the ability to bring the dead back to life with a single touch. Of course, if he touches them again, they die permanently and if they stay alive for more than a minute, someone else must die in their place. Having resurrecting, and keeping alive, his childhood crush Chuck (Anna Friel), Ned helps detective Emerson Cod (Chi McBride) solve crimes with the occassional help of Chenoweth’s Olive Snook, a waitress at Ned’s pieshop. They also must hide the fact that Chuck is alive again from her two grieving aunts, Ellen Greene and Swoosie Kurtz.<\/p>\n

Of course, it remains to be seen if Fuller can generate any interest in a Pushing Daisies<\/strong> movie. Chenoweth notes that she and the other cast members would come back.<\/p>\n

Another previous Fueller series, Showtime’s Dead Like Me<\/em>, has a direct to DVD follow-up, Life After Death<\/em>, premiering next month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
