\"\"<\/a>If you don\u2019t think that between the BBC\u2019s Sherlock<\/em>, CBS\u2019s Elementary<\/em> and the Guy Ritchie\/Robert Downey Jr cinematic collaborations there still just aren\u2019t enough post-modern variations on Arthur Conan Doyle\u2019s classic consulting detective character Sherlock Holmes, then maybe this will satiate you.<\/p>\n

Paramount Studios is currently in development on a remake of their 1985 film Young Sherlock Holmes <\/strong>and are negotiating with Evan Spiliotopoulos to write the screenplay.<\/p>\n

Directed by Barry Levinson, the original film told the meeting of Holmes and the future Doctor Watson at an English boarding school where they discover a series of grisly murders. The story contradicted the details that Doyle gave for Holmes and Watson\u2019s first meeting but that didn\u2019t stop it from being well received by critics and audiences.<\/p>\n

Spiliotopoulos\u2019s resume has a number of Disney direct-to-DVD projects including The Lion King 1 \u00bd<\/strong> and Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time<\/strong>. More recently, he has worked on A Night At The Museum<\/strong> and The Help<\/strong> and has Wanted 2<\/strong> and an adaptation of Herman Melville\u2019s Moby Dick<\/em> in development.<\/p>\n

Chris Columbus, who wrote the original\u2019s screenplay, is serving as a producer on this new iteration.<\/p>\n
