However, the studio has revealed this plot blurb:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This synopsis led many to believe that the film will be adapting &#8220;<em>Where No Man Has Gone Before,<\/em>&#8221; \u00a0the third episode aired from the Original\u00a0<strong>Star Trek\u00a0<\/strong>TV series. In that episode, Gary Mitchell, an\u00a0old\u00a0friend of Kirk&#8217;s and helmsman of the Enterprise, comes in contact with a cosmic force that gives him immeasurable telekinetic powers.
