Up until just a few days ago it seemed as if Warner Brothers was all set to go ahead with production on their superhero team up film Justice League<\/strong>, with last week’s announcement that Peter Jackson’s Weta Workshop set to produce the costumes for the film’s heroes being the latest foward movement on the project.<\/p>\n

However, Variety<\/em> editor Anne Thompson is reporting that Warners has let the contract options expire on the cast that director George Miller had assembled. Thompson states that it was felt that the script wasn’t ready and with no end to the current Writers Guild strike in sight to allow for quick rewrites, there was no way that the film would be able to get through production in time for its projected Summer 2009 release.<\/p>\n

The studio and Miller still want to go ahead with the film. But any plans will have to stay on hold until the strike is resolved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
