{"id":25470,"date":"2012-12-17T16:28:59","date_gmt":"2012-12-17T21:28:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/?p=25470"},"modified":"2021-02-05T13:19:24","modified_gmt":"2021-02-05T18:19:24","slug":"jamie-foxx-reveals-info-on-his-amazing-spider-man-2-characters-history-and-costume","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2012\/12\/17\/jamie-foxx-reveals-info-on-his-amazing-spider-man-2-characters-history-and-costume\/","title":{"rendered":"Jamie Foxx Reveals Info On His AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Character&#8217;s History And Costume"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2011\/06\/23\/jamie-foxx-close-to-taking-lead-in-tarantinos-django-unleashed\/jamiefoxx\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14562\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-14562\" alt=\"JamieFoxx\" src=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/JamieFoxx-225x300.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a> I wonder if the people who cast Jamie Foxx in <strong>The Amazing Spider-Man 2\u00a0<\/strong>realized how much of problem they were going to have with spilling secrets?<\/p>\n<p>During an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130517182024\/http:\/\/www.mtv.com:80\/videos\/movies\/866118\/jamie-foxx-spills-amazing-spider-man-2-villian-details.jhtml?xrs=playershare_twitter\">MTV<\/a>\u00a0promoting\u00a0<strong>Django Unchained<\/strong>, the exceptionally candid Foxx, who plays the villain Electro in the film, revealed the backstory for his character in that film.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYou\u2019ll see his whole life is just no one is talking to him, people have stolen his ideas at the company, he\u2019s a nobody.\u00a0 And at a certain point Spider-Man bumps into him and says, \u2018You\u2019re my guy, you\u2019re my ears and eyes on the street,\u2019 and he says his name, Max, and no one\u2019s ever said Max Dillon\u2019s name, and he goes \u2018Wow.\u2019\u00a0 And so when Spider-Man leaves he sort of thinks that somehow, \u2018I am Spider-Man\u2019s partner,\u2019 and so he starts cutting out his face and pasting it on his board at home.\u00a0 When everything goes bad, his mom doesn\u2019t remember his birthday, I mean all these crazy things happen until finally he has something tragic happen, and then when it turns on he lights it up.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is a more sympathetic take on the villain than the one in the comics, where Max Dillion was a electrical engineer who immediately enters a career of crime after getting his powers.<\/p>\n<p>Foxx also reveals that Electro&#8217;s costume will be black and, what he describes as &#8220;new age.&#8221;
