\"TerryTerry Gilliam is back to work on The Man Who Killed Don Quixote<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you don’t know how monumental that simple statement is, go watch the documentary Lost In La Mancha<\/strong>, which chronicles the first time Gilliam attempted to film this long-planned project and the string of bad luck that plagued the production, forcing it to shut down just days after filming started.<\/p>\n

Empire has talked to the former Monty Python animator, who stated that following getting control of the film’s script back from the insurance company who had ensured the first attempt to make the movie, he realized that he and writing partner Tony Grisoni needed to take another pass through the screenplay prior to rolling the cameras.<\/p>\n

Tony and I have started rewriting Don Quixote<\/strong> just this last week. [We] finally got the script back. I re-read the greatest script ever written and realise we gotta get rewriting! I really wanna knock that one out in the next month or so.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While Gilliam will only divulge that he has “Some very different ideas” for the project, he appears to be viewing the setbacks he had when attempting to make the film the first time as a blessing. “[I\u2019m] starting to think I was lucky, because maybe the film will be better seven years later. It will have matured a bit longer.”<\/p>\n
