\"wolverine\"<\/a>Yesterday, I questioned<\/a> whether the reshoots going on in Vancouver for Twentieth Century Fox’s superhero adaptation X-Men Origins: Wolverine<\/strong> would do the film any good and asserted that any spin coming from the studio was a fairly transparent attempt to hide the fact that they had a potential dud on their hands.<\/p>\n

Well, the studio continued that spin with an email sent to AintItCool News<\/a> from star and executive producer Hugh Jackman, trying to reassure fans that shooting going on now is nothing more than a product of scheduling conflicts that prohibited filming earlier.<\/p>\n

I wanted to reach out and let you know that due to scheduling conflicts with certain cast members and location\/weather considerations, we had to wait until now to shoot a couple of scenes. Please rest assured that Wolverine<\/strong> will be badass and hopefully meet all of your expectations. I am stoked by the positive response to the teaser, which clearly reflects the tone and scope of the film. If you like that, we’ve got much more in store!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Take fromthat what you will. Personally, I think this is just the studio trying to put some more makeup on this pig, this time with Jackman wielding the makeup brush. Whether you believe that Jackman actually sent Harry the email or not, the fact that Jackman’s name has been added to the chorus of voices from the production trying to reassure us that everything is A-OK is more than a tad suspicious. If the studio felt that their initial explanation as to why their was additional shooting going on was sufficent, it would have let that statement stand. Instead, to trot out the film’s star to reach out to one of the big names in geek media to reassure everyone that there’s nothing to see here smacks of a protesting a bit too much.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
