Among the categories <strong>Lincoln<\/strong> was named in are Best Supporting Actor (Tommy Lee Jones) and Actress (Sally Field), Best Actor (Daniel Day Lewis), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture.<\/p>\n<p>Ang Lee&#8217;s tale of survival on the high seas <strong>Life Of Pi<\/strong> earned an impressive 11 nominations. While a number of them were technical awards it did get nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, David O. Russell&#8217;s <strong>Silver Linings Playbook<\/strong> also garnered eight nominations, sweeping across the acting categories garnering one nomination in each as well as nods for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture. Actor\/director Ben Affleck&#8217;s Iran Hostage Crisis drama <strong>Argo<\/strong> also earned seven nominations including a Best Supporting Actor nod for Alan Arkin, Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Sound Mixing, Sound Editing and Film Editing.<\/p>\n<p>There was a pair of historic firsts in the Best Actress category with 85-year-old Emmanuelle Riva (<strong>Amour<\/strong>) being the oldest actress ever nominated while <strong>Beasts Of The Southern Wild<\/strong>&#8216;s Quvenzhane Wallis is the youngest to ever be nominated in the category at age nine.<\/p>\n<p>The nominations were revealed by Seth MacFarlane, who will be hosting the awards show next month and actress Emma Stone. Traditionally, the announcement is made by the president of the Academy accompanied by an Oscar recipient from the previous year.
