According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.variety.com\/article\/VR1118064696\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Variety<\/em><\/a>, the director has cast Emma Stone in the film\u2019s lead and that a deal between the two is being worked on right now.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of del Toro <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2012\/12\/03\/del-toro-sets-crimson-peak-as-next-film\/\" target=\"_blank\">describing<\/a> the film as a \u201cclassical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story\u201d we don\u2019t know anything about the story nor how Stone\u2019s character will fit into it.<\/p>\n<p>Normally I am a fan of her work, so it came as a bit of a shock that she appeared to be so out of her depth in last weekend\u2019s <strong>Gangster Squad<\/strong>.
