Franchise creator Sam Raimi has hinted that if things work out, fans will be able to have their cake and eat it too.<\/p>\n<p>While touring England to promote the release of his latest film <strong>Oz, The Great And Powerful<\/strong>, next week, the Evil Dead and Army Of Darkness director disclosed the following (as reported by the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DisneyMoviesUK\" target=\"_blank\">DisneyUK<\/a> twitter) &#8211;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&quot;I would love to make Evil Dead 4. My brother and I plan to work on the script this summer&quot; Sam Raimi. What a scoop!<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Disney UK (@Disney_UK) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Disney_UK\/status\/307582157650542593?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 1, 2013<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I am assuming that the brother being mentioned is Ivan, who was Raimi&#8217;s collaborator on the screenplays for <strong>Drag Me to Hell<\/strong>, the third <strong>Evil Dead<\/strong> film <strong>Army Of Darkness<\/strong> and <strong>Darkman<\/strong>. Although I wouldn&#8217;t be too surprised if his other brother Ted, who has appeared in a number of Sam&#8217;s movies and has done some directing on his own, would want to take a stab at writing also.<\/p>\n<p>Now of course since this is just a short tweeted quote, there&#8217;s no follow-up so we don&#8217;t know how Raimi intends to differentiate the original series of films from the new reboot. In a year and a half&#8217;s time you don&#8217;t want people scratching their head over and <strong>Evil Dead 4<\/strong> when there was just a numberless <strong>Evil Dead<\/strong> film in theaters.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the big thing to remember is that Raimi promised at the San Diego ComicCon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2008\/07\/27\/sdcc-2008-day-3-round-up-evil-dead-4-terminator-salvation-i-am-legend-more\/\" target=\"_blank\">in 2008<\/a> that he was going to be working with his brother Ivan on some ideas for an <strong>Evil Dead 4<\/strong> around then and it seems as if nothing came from that writing session.
