\"BillandTedsExcellentAdventure\"<\/a>Last year, there was a flurry of activity surrounding a third Bill And Ted<\/strong> film. Original stars Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves were all set to return to their iconic roles and two flaky musicians who are destined to change all of humanity, a screenplay had been written<\/a> and Galaxy Quest<\/strong> director Dean Parisot had been signed<\/a> to direct. But since then, radio silence.<\/p>\n

Turns out, there is nothing to worry about. The lack of news is not an indicator that the project is dead. As Winter explained in an interview with the folks at SlashFilm<\/a>, it is just a byproduct of the development process and that maybe everyone was just a bit premature<\/p>\n

Well the funny thing is there really isn\u2019t a hold up. Nothing held it up other than it got leaked really early in the process, so these things take a shitload of time to get bobbed around and we are really just in the process. It\u2019s really mundane to report the day-to-day process of trying to get a movie made. \u201cRight now they\u2019re doing a rewrite?\u201d You know? That\u2019s my news, \u201cthey are doing a rewrite.\u201d That will take a while and then we will look at it and that might need another rewrite and that will be my next bit of news. So it\u2019s just like\u2026 The short answer is it got leaked way too early. It got leaked just as we started, me and Keanu and Chris and Ed, the two writers just started to put it together. Then you\u2019ve got the whole genesis of putting it together in front of you still, which is where we are at now.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Winter was speaking with the site about his upcoming documentary directorial debut Downloaded, about the history of the controversial filesharing service. And in the course of that discussion, things looped back around to the subject of Bill And Ted 3<\/strong> again and how film news is reported.<\/p>\n

Well completely. I mean absolutely. There\u2019s such a constant\u2026 The flow of information\u2026 The comprehension of how things work has not caught up with the flow of information. Do you know what I mean? So that often leads to confusion, because people are just like \u201cWell I read about this four years ago\u201d and I\u2019m like \u201cWell yeah, but it takes four to six years to get most of this stuff made.\u201d It\u2019s just where we are at, and look I don\u2019t have any problem with the fact that it got leaked, because it\u2019s nice that people are interested in talking about it. It\u2019s not like you could complain that people are interested and we all feel kind of jazzed that people give a crap frankly. We\u2019re just off trying to make sure that if we do it, it\u2019s good.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Honestly, if they’re taking the time to make sure it is good, I don’t mind. It’s been 22 years since 1991’s Bill And Ted’S Bogus Journey<\/strong>, so a little while longer won’t make that much of a difference.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
