The director is in early talks to takeover Sony Pictures big screen adaptation of the 1980s television series <em>The Equalizer<\/em>. If he reaches a deal with the studio, Fuqua will be reunited with his <strong>Training Day<\/strong> star Denzel Washington, who is already signed to the project to play Robert McCall, a retired intelligence agent helping people as a way to atone for some of the unspecified bad things he did in his past.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deadline.com\/2013\/03\/antoine-fuqua-eyes-training-day-re-team-with-denzel-washington-in-the-equalizer\/\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a>, the studio is very happy with the screenplay turned in by Richard Wenk &#8211; It made last year&#8217;s Black List &#8211; and is anxious to get the film into production by late spring, probably on location in Boston.<\/p>\n<p>Sony had been developing an Equalizer film for some time with Paul Haggis, Nicolas Winding Refn, and Rupert Wyatt a;; having been attached to the project at one time or another.
