\"dark-knight\"The Dark Knight<\/strong> producer Michael Uslan is hoping to have Christopher Nolan’s follow-up to the uber-successful The Dark Knight<\/strong> in theaters two years from now.<\/p>\n

The news is buried at the bottom of an interview Uslan did with the South Jersey Courier Post on the re-release of The Dark Knight<\/strong> to IMAX theaters this past weekend.<\/p>\n

Uslan will be onboard as executive producer for the “Dark Knight” sequel, which he estimates will be theaters by 2011. As for the identity of the next round of Batman’s supervillains and love interests, Uslan remains tight-lipped. “It’s one of those deals where if I told you, I’d have to kill you,” he says with a chuckle.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Assuming the obvious, that Warners would once again like to give a third Batman film a summer slot, this gives Nolan approximately 30 months to get the film completed. That certainly seems like a good amount of time and it has been reported that Nolan is already starting to develop a story outline for the sequel.<\/p>\n

It should be noted, though, that the summer of 2011 is starting to look a bit crowded for comic book films. Marvel Studios have their Captain America<\/strong> and Avengers<\/strong> films hitting within two months of each other while Sony is looking at getting Spider-Man 4 on to screens at around the same time.
