With a total of 91,585 backers, the campaign also set new records for the crowdfunding website.<\/p>\n<p>If all continues as planned, shooting on the film should commence this summer for a release in early 2014. After series star Kristen Bell, Jason Dohring has been the first of the television series cast <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2013\/04\/03\/jason-dohring-back-for-veronica-mars\/\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> as returning for the film.<\/p>\n<p>The reverberations of this will continue to emmenate for a while. We know that many filmmakers have been considering going the Kickstarter route in the wake of the <em>Veronica Mars<\/em> campaign hitting their initial $2 million goal within its first 11 hours. But crowdsourcing is not necessarily the solution for every project.
