His former band, White Zombie, certainly played with classic and modern horror tropes in their music and in more recent years Zombie himself has directed such films as <strong>House Of 1,000 Corpses<\/strong>, <strong>The Devil\u2019s Rejects<\/strong> and a remake of John Carpenter\u2019s seminal <strong>Halloween<\/strong>. So it may come as a bit of a surprise when he told the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20140715000416\/http:\/\/blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com:80\/uponsun\/2013\/05\/rob-zombie-last-horror-movie-interview.php?page=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Phoenix New Times<\/em><\/a> that his most recent film, <strong>The Lords Of Salem<\/strong>, will be his last horror film for the conceivable future.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>No. I&#8217;m not really thinking of doing anything . . . <strong>Lords of Salem<\/strong> is my last sort of horror-genre related film for a really long time.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This doesn\u2019t mean that Zombie is done with directing. He is currently developing the sports drama <strong>Broad Street Bullies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I keep describing it as, uh, <strong>Rocky<\/strong> meets <strong>Boogie Nights<\/strong>. Because it&#8217;s a very sort of uplifting, crazy . . . the feeling of <strong>Rocky<\/strong> with the characters of <strong>Boogie Nights<\/strong> is almost the way it plays in my mind.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And for films after <strong>Broad Street Bullies<\/strong>? Well, there is no indications in the interview, but perhaps he\u2019ll continue making films, just in different genres.
