Despite its large drop off at the box office this past weekend, Paramount Pictures is already in talks with Cloverfield<\/strong> director Matt Reeves to helm a sequel to January’s giant monster-munches-Manhattan hit. The project won’t be able to go any further though, until the Writers Guild strike is resolved so that the studio can then negotiate with scripter Drew Goddard.<\/p>\n Previously, Reeves had hinted at a possible sequel storyline by speculating that perhaps there had been more than one camera recording during the evening of the monster’s attack. However, Cloverfield<\/strong>‘s unique premise makes it a difficult prospect to try and duplicate. Done wrong it will make the first film stand out like a one trick pony. If they try to expand the fictional world they’ve created, they run the risk of having a Book Of Shadows: Blair Witch 2<\/strong>– type disaster on their hands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
