Christopher Eccleston in Thor: The Dark World<\/strong>, Karen Gillan here. I wonder where Marvel is going to cast David Tennant, Billie Piper or Matt Smith.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> is saying that Gillan, who starred as the popular companion Amy Pond on BBC’s Doctor Who from 2010 to 2012, will be joining Guardians of the Galaxy<\/strong> in the as yet unnamed role of a lead villain of the film.<\/p>\n

It’s anybody’s guess who she will be playing. She could be playing Nebula, she could be playing Thanos’ consort, Death. Who knows?<\/p>\n

But let’s throw out a hypothesis, shall we? Okay, we know Michael Rooker is playing Yondu, who in this film is a villain but in comics was a Guardian. Lee Pace is also playing a villain who apparently turns to the side of good and is being set up for a spin-off. He was also rumored to be in the running for the leader of the Guardians when casting began. The Guardians had two leaders: Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Vance Astro. Astro was Yondu’s team leader. Gillan has fiery red hair. Astro’s and Yondu’s teammate Nikki had hair made of fire.<\/p>\n

Could the present day comic book Guardians be facing off against the future-set comic book Guardians?<\/p>\n
