Sony Pictures is in the midst of developing a fourth Men In Black<\/strong> film for a while, hiring Oren Uziel to pen the screenplay just last month<\/a>. They may be making that film without its biggest star however.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Collider<\/a> while promoting his latest film After Earth, Will Smith responded negatively to the prospect of returning to the science-fiction\/comedy franchise for a fourth installment.<\/p>\n

I think three is enough for me. Three of anything is enough for me. We\u2019ll look at it and we\u2019ll consider it, but it feels like that it might be time to let someone else do that.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Smith, of course, could very well change his mind. After Earth<\/strong> only managed a paltry $27 million at the box office its opening weekend, and given its $130 million price tag, is starting to look like a bit of a bomb. Of course, it’s box office take could be significantly boosted by foreign markets where After Earth<\/strong> has yet to open. Nearly 70% of Men In Black 3<\/strong>‘s near $625 million in ticket sales came from over seas, so there is a precedence there. But if After Earth continues to under-perform, Smith may just find himself needing to take on Men In Black 4<\/strong> as a way to keep himself in the game.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
