\"UCSC8\"<\/a>Writer Marti Noxon cut her teeth helping to craft the adventures of one butt-kicking lady as a writer\/producer on the seminal Buff, The Vampire Slayer<\/strong>. She’ll be taking that experience and applying to another heroic heroine as MGM and GK Films have hired her to pen the screenplay for their planned reboot of the Tomb Raider<\/strong> video game adaptation franchise.<\/p>\n

Variety<\/a> is reporting Noxon’s hiring and offers this as to what the film’s plot may be –<\/p>\n

Story is still being worked out but will likely follow archaeologist Lara Croft as she sets off on one of her international adventures.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Since Buffy<\/em> and its spinoff Angel<\/em> ended, Noxon has worked on a number of television series including Grey’s Anatomy<\/em> and its spinoff Private Practice<\/em>, Mad Men<\/em> and Glee<\/em> and wrote scripts for the Fright Night<\/strong> remake and I Am Number Four<\/strong>. She also did work on the unproduced Pride And Prejudice And Zombies<\/strong> and Ouija<\/strong> projects. But she has yet to find the real kind of breakout success that many thought would be hers following Buffy<\/em>. A Tomb Raider<\/strong> film definitely plays to her strengths so perhaps this will be the film that launches her career to the next level.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
