\"2012<\/a> Actress Felicity Jones has long been rumored for a role in Amazing Spider-Man 2. <\/strong>Not any\u00a0more, because the actress recently confirmed her involvement with the film in an interview with Dutch website \u00a0RTL Netherlands. Now the rumor shifts to what character she will be playing.<\/p>\n

Many comic book <\/a>film<\/a> websites<\/a> are speculating that she will be playing Felicia Hardy, Spidey’s comic book nemesis\/paramour Black Cat.<\/p>\n

Now, some rumors are provided by inside sources. Some are created from deductive reasoning. Some are the result of wishful thinking. This rumor seems to have sprung from Jones having a similar first name to the character and that she would look smoking hot wearing the character’s leather cat-suit.<\/p>\n

Personally, I hope that she isn’t playing Black Cat. Marvel has been really insistent on having the character appear in a Spider-Man film in the past\u00a0(Their insistence on having the Black Cat in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4 was one of the reasons why the director left the project and we ended up with a reboot in the first place). But adding the Black Cat would add a third or fourth villain (after Jamie Foxx’s\u00a0Electro, Rhino and, perhaps, Harry Osborn) and\/or a third potential love interest (after Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson). That’s way too busy. If trying to juggle so many characters is too much for Sam Raimi to handle, they it really is too many characters to juggle.<\/p>\n
