At the time, it was noted that the likely saviors for the project looked to be Red Granite Pictures, the folks behind Martin Scorsese&#8217;s upcoming <strong>The Wolf Of Wall Street<\/strong>, with distribution to be handled by Universal Pictures.<\/p>\n<p>Well, some fast deal making has been done and he Brothers have indeed announced that the film will go on with Red Granite and Universal as partners &#8211; <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">IT&quot;S OFFICIAL:  Dumb and Dumber To is going into production with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RedGranitePics?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RedGranitePics<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UniversalPics?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@UniversalPics<\/a>!!!  <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/DumbTo?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#DumbTo<\/a>  P <a href=\"http:\/\/t.co\/uS8UIXSRj4\">pic.twitter.com\/uS8UIXSRj4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Farrelly Brothers (@farrellybros) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/farrellybros\/status\/347136644949876737?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 18, 2013<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dumb And Dumber To<\/strong> had been in development at Warner subsidiary New Line for the past several years and was thought to be a lock with Carrey and Daniels\u2019 participation. However, the studio balked at the rather low budget of $30 million when the similarly priced <strong>The Incredible Burt Wonderstone<\/strong> in which Carey co-starred bombed at the box office earlier this year.
