Jake Kasdan will return to the director&#8217;s chair, but this time newcomer Justin Malen will be contributing the screenplay. According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deadline.com\/2013\/06\/sony-wants-more-bad-teacher\/\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a> &#8211;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Sony Pictures production president Hanna Minghella said the studio \u201cloves Justin\u2019s take on the material \u2013 it hits all the notes that made the first film such a breakthrough hit and also takes the characters in a new direction that is fresh and fun.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The film&#8217;s original writers, Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, are signed on to produce.<\/p>\n<p>Released in 2011, the raunchy comedy about a terrible teacher who cleans up her act in order to win a big pay bonus by having the class that scores highest on a state-wide exam. Cameron Diaz took a pay cut to star in the film, but received some of the back end profits.
