Warner Brothers is moving forward with their talked about remake of Joe Dante’s 1984 horror comedy Gremlins<\/strong>. The studio has reportedly attached Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg to produce the new version.<\/p>\n

While Grahame-Smith and Katzenberg initially teamed to create the MTV comedy series The Hard Times of RJ Burger<\/em>, but Grahame-Smith is perhaps best known for creating the horror and classic lit mashup genre with the novel Pride And Prejudice And Zombies<\/em>. Although it is not clear if Grahame-Smith will be working in the remake’s script himself, it should be noted that he wrote Tim Burton’s recent big screen translation of the 1960s gothic horror soap opera Dark Shadows<\/em>, and given that that film is was particularly bad, I have to admit that I sort of hope he isn’t.<\/p>\n

It was first reported that Warners was interested in remaking Gremlins<\/strong> back at the beginning of the year<\/a>, when the studio entered into negotiations with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment for the rights.<\/p>\n
