But it looks like he has decided that he needs a hand in getting the script into final shape, as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/heat-vision\/james-cameron-brings-writer-josh-597234\" target=\"_blank\">Hollywood Reporter<\/a> is stating that Cameron has hired <strong>War of the Worlds<\/strong> writer Josh Friedman to work on it.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, Friedman was an executive producer on the TV series <em>Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles<\/em>, which was based on the popular film franchise created by Cameron, though he had no participation in the series.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time that Cameron has brought in a writing collaborator. For the first Avatar film, executive producer Laeta Kalogridis did some uncredited rewrites on the screenplay.
