When Lily Collins was attached to the long struggling adaptation of Pride And Prejudice And Zombies<\/em>, it was thought that that might finally be the thing to get the film into production.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Collins today during a press event for next week’s The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones<\/strong> (and more on that next week), I asked her about the status of the project and she gave me the following update –<\/p>\n

I’m waiting on a new script. I’m so excited for it, but I’m waiting.It’s a great project and I’m excited to be doing it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to follow up as to who was working on this latest rewrite, but it does show that the project is still progressing.<\/p>\n

Before current director Burr Steers was attached to the project, David O. Russell was working hard at bringing Seth Grahame Smith\u2019s mash-up novel to the big screen, drafting the latest version of the script that we knew about. I suppose it is understandable that Steers would want a new writer to help put his own spin on things. And if the producers are willing to pay for a new draft than the project isn’t quite the shambling undead thing that it seems to have been in the past.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
