Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who were the writers chosen by director J. J. Abrams to script the 2009 revival of the franchise, are currently in negotiations to return to draft the third cinematic adventure of the rebooted <em>Enterprise<\/em> crew.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the first film, Kurtzman and Orci also supplied the initial drafts for this summer&#8217;s <strong>Star Trek Into Darkness<\/strong>. Their script was further worked on by Damon Lindelof, though the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/heat-vision\/alex-kurtzman-roberto-orci-return-599706\" target=\"_blank\">Hollywood Reporter<\/a> is stating that as of now he will not be participating in the writing process this time. That&#8217;s probably just as well as many are viewing Lindelof as the weak writing link in both <strong>Into Darkness<\/strong> and last summer&#8217;s <strong>Prometheus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Reportedly, Paramount execs had considered and met with several writers and writing teams, including Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz (<strong>Thor<\/strong>, <strong>X Men: First Class<\/strong>), before returning to Kurtzman and Orci.<\/p>\n<p>For their part, Kurtzman and Orci have a pretty full plate already.
