\"josh-brolin\"<\/a>In news that is sure to make some sectors of fandom howl in outrage at what could have been, James Brolin has revealed that he was briefly in talks to play Batman in director Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel<\/strong> sequel.<\/p>\n

The actor disclosed that he had been in contention for the role of the Caped Crusader opposite Henry Cavill’s Superman at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, where has promoting his latest film Labor Day<\/strong>. Speaking with Huffington Post<\/a>, Brolin said –<\/p>\n

We did. I didn\u2019t have conversations about it, but Zack [Snyder], that was part of his idea. It just didn\u2019t turn out. It\u2019s OK. It is OK. You know, another scenario might have worked better, but I\u2019m happy for Ben.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brolin’s was a name that was frequently mentioned when fans voiced their complaints over Ben Affleck’s casting in the role of Bruce Wayne\/Batman last month<\/a>. IT was a reaction that Brolin admits he was aware of and sympathized with the reaction Affleck received.<\/p>\n

I’ve never seen such a global reaction in my life. I feel for him, truly. I would not want to be him right now. The reaction becomes so personal. It\u2019s like, ‘Fuck this guy, I wish he was dead.’ And you’re like, ‘What? Dude, seriously? This guy is just working like you are. He’s doing the same thing you are. He’s trying to make the best choices he can.’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Snyder’s Man Of Steel<\/strong> sequel is set to start filming early next year for a July 17, 2015 release.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
