So, the intriguing scheduling history of the\u00a0Ant-Man<\/strong> film has gotten a little more interesting.After all, the Edgar Wright began work on the first draft of the script in 2006 and it has been on the slow burner ever since. Now that it finally has received a released date, Marvel wants to change it. The Hollywood Reporter <\/a>is claiming that Disney is moving the release date of the film from November 6, 2015 to July 31, 2015.<\/p>\n

The trade journal hints that it is because Disney wants to avoid a potential confrontation with the next James Bond flick and the CGI animated Peanuts film, both of which would have shared the same November release date with Ant-Man<\/strong>. However, the change might actually be in line with Disney’s desire to release two Marvel films in every summer film season. The announcement that Disney will release their two Marvel films for 2016 in May and July raised some eyebrows. And now, with this move, Disney will have have a film in May (Avengers: Age of Ultron<\/strong>) and July in 2015 too. And even 2014 has a film in April (Captain America: The Winter Soldier<\/strong>) and August (Guardians of the Galaxy<\/strong>), only a month off on both ends from the May\/July release pairing.<\/p>\n

However, if James Bond and Snoopy did scare Disney\/Marvel into backing away from a release date, be on the look out for a change to\u00a0Guardians of the Galaxy\u00a0<\/strong>as well. Right now, it is scheduled for release on August 1, 2014, the same date as the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey<\/strong>. Granted, the films are for two diametrically different audiences, and they latter might be released with a deadly NC-17 rating, but if the fans who made the books such a sensation come out in droves to see the film, Guardians <\/strong>might be lost in the box office shuffle that week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
