Dan Dos Santos will be supplying covers for the mini-series.

“We’ve been dying to get more Serenity out ever since the book Joss and Zack wrote. We all loved Zack’s work on Shepherd’s Tale, and couldn’t wait to get him back into the mix. This story is the first giant step past the film, after the big damn heroes stuck a big middle finger in the face of the Alliance,” states editor in Chief Scott Allie in a press release. “Zack establishes new ground rules for these characters. He nails the voices, takes the relationships to the next level, and just gives us all the best space romp since the film Joss made.”

Previously, Dark Horse has published two mini-series that bridged the gap between the end of the Firefly television series and its feature film continuation Serenity as well as the aforementioned Shepard’s Tale, a 48-page graphic novel which filled in the mysterious back story of the character of Shepard Book, and a one-shot that featured friends of the character Wash gathering to commemorate his passing in the events of Serenity.

While I know that there are numerous Firefly/Serenity fans out there who are probably wishing that the show would return in some live action fashion, I think that time is past. But Dark Horse has done all right by the series so far, so I think that things are in good hands for this mini-series.

The first issue of the miniseries goes on sale on January 29th.

Dark Horse gets ready to launch it’s first post-film FIREFLY/SERENITY story.

[click for more]

[106
{"0":"post-30750","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-comicsandfilm
["GET
