Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell have been teasing about the prospect of an Evil Dead 4<\/strong>\/ Army Of Darkness 2<\/strong> film for some time. It’s certainly what fans have been hoping for since Army Of Darkness<\/strong> hit screens in 1992. This weekend at the Wizard World Nashville Comic Con and Bloody Disgusting<\/a> got a report on the latest as to what Campbell had to say about the prospect of slipping on<\/p>\n

\u201c\u201cThe last one was twenty-two years ago. I just haven\u2019t been racing to do it. Sam Raimi is just a little bit busy making the biggest movies in Hollywood. I used to be busy. Now I\u2019m not. That\u2019s why I\u2019m here. He then joked, \u201cAsh would have to stop occasionally from chasing some deadite to catch his breath. Maybe we could do that, I guess. That would be exciting. Fight in a walker. That would be alright. Hit them with my cane. Fake them out, have a fake heart attack, distract a zombie. I like it.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the whole thing isn\u2019t a lark. He ended up on a more serious note and apparently came clean, \u201cAlright sir, the answer is yes.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I want to believe that this is really what Raimi is focusing his attentions on right now. And he may very well be. Like every other director, Raimi’s name has been attached to a number of different projects that are in development. But as of late we haven’t really heard any particular project that may be the forerunner to be his next film, so perhaps he has finally decided that now is the time to finally return to Ash’s ongoing fight against the deadites.<\/p>\n

There was some talk earlier this year<\/a> that Raimi was going to be working on a script for a fourth film in the original Evil Dead<\/strong> franchise, though he almost immediately<\/a> disavowed what he said stating that he felt coerced into saying something about the possible film.<\/p>\n

So if if Campbell is telling is the truth, it looks like we may just be seeing the film fans have been waiting to see for the last two decades.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
