The film is directed by Sheng Ding who previously teamed with Chan on <strong>Little Big Soldier<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Chan&#8217;s <strong>Police Story<\/strong> franchise is usually known for its lighthearted tone mixing broad comedy with action. Here, things have definitely taken a turn for the darker, much more so than the last installment, 2004&#8217;s <strong>New Police Story<\/strong>, ever did. (I&#8217;m assuming that there is no real story connection to the past films and Chan is just trading on the franchise name here.) If anything, the trailer below hints at a story that feels more in tone with his 2009 film, <strong>The Shinjuku Incident<\/strong>.
