\"batman<\/a>So, it looks like Warner Brothers is testing for the female lead in the Batman\/Superman<\/strong> film, but what that role will be is up for speculation.<\/p>\n

Variety<\/a> is reporting that (from left to right above) Gal Godot (best known for three of the six Fast & Furious <\/strong>films), \u00c9lodie Yung (Best known as Jinx in G.I. Joe:<\/strong> Retaliation<\/strong>)\u00a0<\/strong>and Olga Kurylenko (known as the Bond girl in Quantum of Solace<\/strong>) have been auditioned for the female lead in the film. Variety, always one to make a stand, says that they appear to be auditioning for Diana Prince\/Wonder Woman, although they could be auditioning for a love interest, although the role seems like it would be Wonder Woman.<\/p>\n

If I was a betting man, I’d say love interest. While Wonder Woman is an interesting choice, there are a lot of factors at play with that makes her involvement in the film in a major way a stretch.<\/p>\n

For one, this new film needs to establish a new Batman, and new status quo for Batman, a reason for him and Superman to either fight, team up or both. Add that to Nightwing being part of the proceedings<\/a> and all the baggage that brings and you already have a pretty busy film without introducing Wonder Woman and her back story into the equation.<\/p>\n

Also, this latest round of actresses are all English as second a language speakers. Kurylenko and Yung are from France, and Gadot is Israeli. Not to be all jingoistic or culturally insensitive, but I doubt that Warners is going to cast a Wonder Woman that speaks less than perfect English, no matter how good of an actress they are.<\/p>\n

And. personally, while all the actresses above were in kick-ass action movies, movies where they were doing some of the ass-kicking, they are more the lithe, athletic type than Amazonian.<\/p>\n

If there’s a comic character they could be playing, I think it’s more likely that they will be playing Talia Al Ghul than Wonder Woman, but that’s just me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
