In the 33 years since it first appeared on screen, the series has traveled from Camp Crystal Lake to Manhattan to outer space to Hell and has even crossed over with another long-running horror franchise. And now it has reached its eponymous thirteenth installment, which we will see in the already crowded 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes from Exhibitor Relations &#8211;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Paramount sets FRIDAY THE 13th for March 13, 2015. Not a sequel to the reboot, mind you, another reboot entirely.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Exhibitor Relations Co. (@ERCboxoffice) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ERCboxoffice\/status\/405529592753971200?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 27, 2013<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>So it look as if the last installment, released in 2009 and commonly seen as a reboot of the franchise, is now just a standalone entry. Of course, missing out on having the film released in 2013 probably marks the biggest marketing opportunity lost since the James Bond franchise producers didn&#8217;t release a film in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>It was only a matter of time before Paramount announced work on a new <strong>Friday The 13th<\/strong> film.
