Director Ivan Reitman has managed to secure a PG-13 rating for his film Draft Day<\/strong> from the Motion Picture Association of America’s ratings board, having successfully appealed their initial decision to rate the movie “R.”<\/p>\n

The MPAA’s rating board originally gave Draft Day<\/strong> the more restrictive R rating for “brief strong language.” However, Reitman and Lionsgate exec Erik Feig were able to convince the Classification and Rating Appeals Board to grant the film the lower rating at a hearing this past Wednesday. The lower rating allows for teenage ticket buyers to see the film without having to be accompanied by someone 18-years-old or older.<\/p>\n

There is no word as to exactly what “strong language” the ratings board was particularly upset about, but one of the few hard-and-fast rules that they do abide by when classifying films is that any movie that has more than one instance of the word “fuck” in a non-sexual context. Because as we know, teens between the ages of 13 and 17 never use the word “fuck” more than once a day, or some such thing.<\/p>\n

Draft Day<\/strong>, which tells the story of the Cleveland Browns general manager, played by Kevin Costner, scrambling to land the number one draft pick on his team opens on April 11.<\/p>\n
