\"gilliamquixote\"<\/a>Yesterday on Facebook<\/a>, director Terry Gilliam posted the picture below with the comment “Dreams of Don Quixote have begun again. Dave Warren has started doodling. Will we get the old bastard back on his horse this year? Human sacrifices welcomed. Stay tuned.”<\/p>\n

For the uninitiated, Gilliam is referencing The Man Who Killed Don Quixote<\/strong>, his pet project that he has tried numerous times to get off the ground only to be met with various degrees of failure. Dave Warren is an art director\/production designer who has credits such as Danny Boyle’s Sunshine<\/strong>, Hugo<\/strong> and Snow White And The Huntsman<\/strong> to his name. Of course, the most important credit is his work on Gilliam’s upcoming The Zero Theorem<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

So is Gilliam finally entering into pre-production on the film? Presumably so, as Gilliam stated back in November that the plan was to shoot the film “in the Canary Islands next Autumn.” But the line where he questions if he will be getting “the old bastard back on his horse this year,” strikes me as if he is speculating whether he will indeed have the financing he needs to get the film made. <\/p>\n

So is this a bit of pre-production art or is it a bit of art from Warren being used as part of presentation to investors to give them an idea of what the movie will look like. We will see.<\/p>\n
