For comic book fans, one of the favorite moments of any film based on Marvel Comics characters is the inevitable from the writer who was one of the driving forces behind the rise of the comics publishing house in the 1960s, Stan Lee. But it turns out that he won’t be appearing in one upcoming Marvel film – Guardians Of The Galaxy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Lee confirmed his absence on a recent installment of the DweebCast<\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n

That’s the one group I didn’t create. I didn’t write Guardians of the Galaxy. I’m not even sure who they all are. I can’t wait to see the movie.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well, I don’t think that I can blame Lee for bowing out of appearing in a film featuring he didn’t have a hand in creating. The Guardians of the Galaxy were created in 1969 by writer Arnold Drake and artist Gene Colan in 1969 when Lee was serving as the company’s editor. But if I were to point out a technicality, although Lee appeared Captain America: The First Avenger<\/strong>, it was Joe Simon and Jack Kirby who created the character of Captain America back in the 1940s. Granted, it was Lee who brought the character back from obscurity in 1964’s The Avengers<\/em> #4.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, we will just have to content ourselves with Lee’s appearance in April’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
