A character from the first Jurassic Park<\/strong> film will be making an appearance in the upcoming sequel, though it probably isn’t the first couple of ones who you think.<\/p>\n

Speaking with IGN<\/a>, Jurassic World<\/strong> director revealed that B. D. Wong’s character of geneticist Dr. Henry Wu.<\/p>\n

He had a much larger role in the original novel, he was the engineer of this breakthrough in de-extinction. He spent two decades living in Hammond\u2019s shadow, underappreciated. We think there\u2019s more to his story.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This strikes me as a rather ingenious idea and I can see where there could be a number of directions that they could take the character. And Treverow states that he and co-screenwriter felt that the inclusion of Wu would form a more organic link to the original trilogy of films than using one of the more well known characters played by Sam Neil, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.<\/p>\n

I know a lot of fans want to see the original characters back. They\u2019re iconic. But I respect those actors too much to shoehorn them into this story for my own sentimental reasons. Jurassic Park<\/strong> isn\u2019t about the bad luck of three people who keep getting thrown into the same situation. The only reason they\u2019d go back to that island is if the screenwriters contrived a reason for them to go.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jurassic World<\/strong> is scheduled to stomp into theaters in May 2015.<\/p>\n
