While it has been stated that Paul Walker’s Fast & Furious<\/strong> character would be retired<\/a> after the upcoming seventh installment following the actor’s death during filming last November<\/a>, it was unclear<\/a> how the production would proceed<\/a> with completing the film. With production now resuming, the New York Daily News<\/em><\/a> is reporting that the production will be using body doubles and CGI to finish the scenes in which his character was still needed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have hired four actors with bodies very similar to Paul\u2019s physique and they will be used for movement and as a base,\u201d one source close to production tells us. \u201cPaul\u2019s face and voice will be used on top using CGI.\u201d<\/p>\n

Our insider adds that this is option number one producers and Universal Pictures have decided on, and that the studio feels confident fans of the franchise will feel satisfied with the result.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Walker had appeared in five of the previous six installments of the car racing franchise, co-starring with Vin Diesel.<\/p>\n

This isn’t the first time that an actor who has died in the midst of a film’s production have had their part completed through the use of body doubles and CGI. The practice dates as far back as Brandon Lee’s death while shooting 1994’s The Crow<\/strong> and was also used in 2000’s Gladiator<\/strong> in the wake of Oliver Reed’s passing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
