Steven Spielberg may have been having trouble<\/a> lately deciding what project he may want to next tackle for himself, but he has found time to come up with the story for another film – specifically Goonies 2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We’ve known that Goonies<\/strong> director Richard Donner has been working on a follow up to his 1985 adventure film for some time now, a fact that he recently reiterated. However, this is the first time that we’ve heard some concrete news as to who may be working on the project with him. But Spielberg’s active involvement shouldn’t be too much of a surprise as he wrote the story for the original film in addition to producing and directing some second unit footage for the movie.<\/p>\n

The scoop was gotten by TMZ, but if you don’t relish wading through the usual TMZ questioning in the video below, here is the relevant quote –<\/p>\n

Hopefully we\u2019re going to get this done, period. Spielberg came up with the idea of doing a sequel after 30 years. You don\u2019t do it without him, and he came up with another storyline and he\u2019s right on.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
