I hate to say it, but it feels as if PIXAR has been in a bit of a rut these past few years. Between a string of sequels and the frankly underwhelming Brave<\/strong> in 2012, PIXAR hasn’t had an original story hit film since 2009’s Up<\/strong>. Five years is a long time to go for a studio that was generating them at a pace of one right after another for a good while. Perhaps it is a good thing then that we don’t have an animated film from them this year, giving them some real time to concentrate on next summer’s Inside Out<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Up<\/strong> director Pete Docter is the creative driver on this film, which is certainly a good sign. And the studio just released on their website the first major plot synopsis for the film which does sound imaginative enough. That is if you don’t remember the early 1990s sitcom Herman’s Head<\/em> which ran on the early FOX network for three season. Still I trust that Docter will be able to do something that will stand on its own. And hopefully it will re-fire the imaginations of his fellow filmmakers and we’ll see a resurgence of the PIXAR of old. At least until that Finding Nemo<\/strong> sequel hits in 2016.<\/p>\n

From the tepuis of South America to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award\u00ae-winning director Pete Docter has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In 2015, he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all \u2013 inside the mind of an 11-year-old named Riley.<\/p>\n

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it\u2019s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions \u2013 Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith).<\/p>\n

The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley\u2019s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley\u2019s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
