Some more Star Wars: Episode VII<\/strong> set pictures have surfaced, again over at TMZ<\/a>. Their group of pictures today features the building of some large, full-scale props, most specifically the franchise’s most iconic starship – the Millennium Falcon<\/em>. I don’t know why, but after reporting on this film for over a year now, seeing a full-size Millennium Falcon under construction for the film makes the film much more a real thing that is happening than any of the previous set pictures and casting announcements ever could. Now<\/em> it’s Star Wars<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition to seeing a full-sized Falcon<\/em> under construction, we also get to see what appears to be a next-generation X-Wing being built as well as the giant pig-like creature we saw in yesterday’s Abu Dhabi set pictures<\/a>. We’ve picked a few select photos for you to see below, but<\/p>\n

A few things of note –<\/p>\n

First off, if you think that the mere mentioning that the Millennium Falcon<\/em> making an appearance in Star Wars: Episode VII<\/strong> is some form of spoiler, while I would disagree. After all, we know that the ship’s owner Han Solo (Harrison Ford) is set to be in the film, and according to some reports, he’ll have a significant role. It would be more of a spoiler if the Falcon<\/em> weren’t in the film.<\/p>\n

Second of all, if you look at the Falcon construction photos, it looks as if it is going to be a set both inside and out, which suggests that the camera is going to follow our heroes right in and through the ship with no edits to disguise a move between two different sets.<\/p>\n

Finally, I do have to wonder how “unofficial” the pictures from both yesterday and today are. So far, TMZ has not received any sort of take down notice. It seems more likely that they are being “leaked” with the full approval and consent of director JJ Abrams and Lucasfilm. Though honestly, who cares? We’re getting some sneak peeks at the new Star Wars<\/strong>, and that’s exciting enough for me.<\/p>\n
