Last year, director Zack Snyder and Warner Brothers revealed that what everyone assumed was going to be a direct sequel to that summer’s Man Of Steel was going actually going to team DC Comics’ two greatest heroes, Superman and Batman, to the screen via a passage from writer\/artist Frank Miller’s seminal The Dark Knight Returns<\/em>. Today, Snyder has unveiled the first bit of footage from the film, which is still in principal photography, and again invoking Miller’s classic story.<\/p>\n

According to numerous reports, the short teaser featured Ben Affleck in an armored Batman costume similar to the one Miller conceived for Dark Knight Returns. The teaser starts close in on him and pulls back as pulls down a switch on something, which lights up to reveal that it is the famed Bat-Signal. The shot then moves around to follow the Bat-Single’s shaft of light up into a rainy, night sky only to see that the Signal is actually shinning on Superman (Henry Cavill) who is hovering in the air, looking rather cross with the heat vision in his eyes powering up.<\/p>\n

Hopefully Warners will make that available online soon. <\/p>\n

But that short bit of footage wasn’t the only highly anticipated thing revealed at this morning’s panel. Snyder also revealed to the world our first look at Gal Gadot in her costume as Wonder Woman. As you can see below, they’ve kept the classic “swimsuit” design but added a bit of skirting and fashioned it out of leather. The whole aesthetic speaks more to “warrior” than it does “superheroine.” So I think we have an idea as to direction that Snyder is going with the character. And I have to say that I certainly am encouraged by that.<\/p>\n
