Director Bryan Singer has found who will embody the titular villain for the next installment of the X-Men<\/strong> fanchise, X-Men: Apocalypse<\/strong> – Oscar Isaac.<\/p>\n

According to Variety<\/a>, Isaac was an early contender for the role and the yardstick which Singer seems to have measured other actors up for the role against.<\/p>\n

Isaac will be joining returning X-Men<\/strong> franchise stars Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult and possibly Hugh Jackman for the film.<\/p>\n

As the last X-Men<\/strong> film Days Of Future Past<\/strong> did in relation to its predecessor, Apocalypse<\/strong> will jump a decade forward from Days Of Future Past<\/strong>‘s 1970s setting into the `80s. Variety also quoted Singer as stating that the film’s level of destruction will live up to the villain’s name –<\/p>\n

Apocalypse<\/strong> will have more of the mass destruction that X-Men<\/strong> films, to date, have not relied upon. There\u2019s definitely now a character and a story that allow room for that kind of spectacle.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This will be the second big franchise role for Isaac following his breakout performance in last year’s Inside Llewyn Davis<\/strong>. He recently wrapped shooting for an unspecified supporting role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Cameras are expected to role on X-Men: Apocalypse<\/strong> in Spring 2015 for a May 27, 2016 release.<\/p>\n
