He may still be working on the script<\/a>, but Kevin Smith is already lining up his cast for Mallrats 2<\/strong>. Specifically, seeing which actors from the original 1995 comedy are up for a return. It very likely helps him tailor the screenplay to those who are available. As you can see from the below Facebook posts, Smith already has Michael Rooker, Stan Lee, Shannen Doherty and of course himself and Jason Mewes lined up return. Who’s the next of the seven characters Smith says are left? Who knows, but there are a number of candidates – Ben Affleck, Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Claire Forlani, Ethan Suplee, Joey Lauren Adams and Renee Humphrey. I’ve previously discounted London and Forlani given their dissatisfaction with working with Smith on the first film. The remainder do all have careers of various levels of busy, but I think that they would all find the time to come back for this. I do know one thing though – If Affleck is back, we definitely need a scene where his Shannon Hamilton character confronts Smith’s Silent Bob while Silent Bob is in his Batman costume.<\/p>\n
