Ever since the first Iron Man<\/strong> film, the post-credit scenes at the end of each Marvel Studios film have been a staple element that fans would sit through. Either a light-hearted coda to the film just watched or a hint as to what might be in store in upcoming films.So it does come as a bit of a surprise today that The Avengers: Age Of Ultron<\/strong> director Joss Whedon and Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige have told EW<\/a> that there would not be a tag scene in next month’s Avengers<\/strong> sequel.<\/p>\n

The issue at hand is that they did such a good job with the post-credits scene for The Avengers<\/strong> in 2012 that they don’t think that they could top it.<\/p>\n

We all came at [the decision not to include a post-credits scene] separately\u2014we don\u2019t want to chase that… There is nothing at the very end. And that\u2019s not a fake-out. We want people to know so they don\u2019t sit there for 10 minutes and then go: \u2018Son of a bitch! I\u2019ll kill them!\u2019<\/p>\n

The first rule of making a sequel is take the best moments and do something else. Don\u2019t do the Indiana Jones gun trick again differently. Just go somewhere else. Don\u2019t try to hit the same highs, because people will sense it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The news will probably come as a disappointment to fans who were hoping that a post-credits scene would feature the first appearance of some of the new superheroes set to be introduced through Marvel Studios’ Third Phase<\/a> of films, with Captain Marvel being the odds on favorite. But studio honcho Kevin Feige stated that there will be a short epilogue scene that will appear during the final credits, “But there\u2019s not a post-post-credit scene.”<\/p>\n
