{"id":35781,"date":"2015-04-15T20:21:15","date_gmt":"2015-04-16T00:21:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/?p=35781"},"modified":"2018-12-05T00:10:11","modified_gmt":"2018-12-05T05:10:11","slug":"wonder-woman-has-already-found-new-director-in-patty-jenkins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2015\/04\/15\/wonder-woman-has-already-found-new-director-in-patty-jenkins\/","title":{"rendered":"WONDER WOMAN Has Already Found New Director In Patty Jenkins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Patty-Jenkins-to-direct-Thor-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17673\" src=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Patty-Jenkins-to-direct-Thor-2.jpg\" alt=\"Patty-Jenkins-to-direct-Wonder-Woman\" width=\"550\" height=\"289\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In what is probably the quickest turnaround in recent memory, Warner Brothers has already filled the director&#8217;s chair for their upcoming <strong>Wonder Woman<\/strong> film <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2015\/04\/13\/michell-maclaren-departs-wonder-woman-directors-chair\/\" target=\"_blank\">vacated less than 48 hours ago by Michelle MacLaren<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/2015\/04\/wonder-woman-patty-jenkins-directs-after-maclaren-exit-1201410806\/\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a>, the job is now going to Patty Jenkins, perhaps best known for directing Charlize Theron in the serial killer drama <strong>Monster<\/strong> (2003).<\/p>\n<p>You may remember that Jenkins was briefly attached to direct another superhero project a few years back, Marvel Studios&#8217; <strong>Thor: The Dark World<\/strong>. She left that project over &#8220;creative differences,&#8221; the same reason that was offered for MacLaren&#8217;s departure from <strong>Wonder Woman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Wonder Woman will mark Jenkins first feature film work since Monster. She has filled the time in between working on TV series from <em>Arrested Development<\/em> and <em>Entourage<\/em> to <em>The Killing<\/em>. Normally, I would be concerned about the lack of big budget experience for a project this size, but if Marvel initially felt good about working with her as does Warners now, I suppose they are privy to things we may not be.<\/p>\n<p>Gal Gadot has already been cast to star as the Amazonian superhero who will first appear in next spring\u2019s <strong>Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice<\/strong> before <strong>Wonder Woman<\/strong> hits the screen on June 23, 2017.
