The man tasked with rebuilding this latest attempt &#8211; See what I did there? &#8211; is screenwriter Dami\u00e1n Szifron.<\/p>\n<p>Szifron, who earned a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar for writing and directing this past year&#8217;s <strong>Wild Tales<\/strong>, has been picked to take a run at bringing the story &#8211; As outlined in the show&#8217;s opening titles below &#8211; of a test pilot whose egregious injuries are repaired with bionic parts allowing him to become a top spy for the government. The original series ran from 1974 to 1978 and starred Lee Majors.<\/p>\n<p>This new version, of course, will reflect the impact of inflation and will be titled <strong>The Six Billion Dollar Man<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Wahlberg is attached to star as the titular Steve Austin as well as produce.
