\"Ridley<\/a><\/p>\n

Opinions may have been divided amongst fans about Ridley Scott’s 2012 Alien<\/strong>-prequel Prometheus<\/strong>. but it certainly made enough money that studio Twentieth Century Fox is interested in having the director deliver a sequel. And Prometheus 2<\/strong> appears to be the next project on the director’s plate.<\/p>\n

In a recent profile of Scott in Total Film (as pointed out by SciFied<\/a>) there is the claim that cameras will be rolling on Prometheus 2<\/strong> this coming January. Total Film follows this up by quoting Scott as saying “I’ve got back into the sci-fi thing, I kind of adore it,” so that suggests, at least, that their information originated with Scott himself.<\/p>\n

Scott had been developing Prometheus 2<\/strong> for awhile with writers Jack Paglen and Michael Green working on the screenplay.<\/p>\n

As they are pretty much the only two survivors at the end of Prometheus<\/strong>, it is assumed that Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender will be returning for the sequel.<\/p>\n

As of yet, Twentieth Century Fox has not announced a release date for Prometheus 2<\/strong> though if they are shooting in early 2016 I would suspect we’ll see it at some point in 2017, though that is also around the time that Neil Blomkamp’s proposed Alien<\/strong> film is expected. Scott recently signed to do The Cartel, the story of Mexican drug lord El Chapo. Given that El Chapo recently made headlines for an escape from a Mexican prison, it could be assumed that Fox would want to capitalize on that. But since both projects are for the same studio I don’t think there will be too much trouble in getting the schedule worked out.<\/p>\n
